Question for those who have canned peas.

I usually freeze our peas but this year to save space I have toyed with the idea of canning them.  However, I absolutely HATE the taste of store bought canned peas.

What do the peas you've canned taste like?  There is just something about canned peas...they taste like the can to me.

Thanks for responding, Barb.  I am going to try them in pint jars this year and maybe freeze a bag or two.  If I don't like them canned I won't do them that way again that's for sure.

I freeze and can peas. I like the fresher taste of them frozen,but I can things in case of power outages. The home-canned ones are better than store ones. I do,however,can mine in a waterbath for 3 hrs. I know the recommended way is pressure canning,but I think it over cooks them. Maybe that's why the store ones taste so bad!
