I went through all this (create an account, etc.) just to tell Lovina that I enjoy her column in the Kokomo paper. I used to enjoy her mother's column in the Indianapolis Star and sadly missed it. We all need to simplify our lives and it's such a pleasure to read about YOURS. Keep up the good work with your lovely family. Hugs to all.

Re: Note to Lovina
I throughly enjoy your weekly column. I read it on-line, since no papers near me carry it. I have one question for you. I read in your Mother's column and also in yours that you use a mop to wash the walls down for spring cleaning. What type of a mop do you use. I've looked at several, but the one's I've seen have hard metal pieces on them that would scratch the walls. Thank you in advance for your answer. Blessings to you and your family.
Re: Note to Lovina
Indeed a very nice "letter"!! That is the way that I feel whenever I read Lovina's column and books. Although I am not really in the mainstream rat race, there are times and circumstances that I feel the need to slow down. Even on a small farm with little debt in a small area..one can and does get overwhelmed(not too often, thankfully!). The Amish cook is a wonderful means for me to re-group when I need it most..for that,I,too, am greatful!! Since joining this site,I have been introduced to Elizabeth Coblentz, I have no doubt that she was a wonderful woman. She raised her daughter well!! Wish I had known of her sooner, but I now enjjoy her writings in the books that I have bought.
Re: Note to Lovina
Well, if Lovina's is ever unavailable for me to go to escape the rat race, I'm headed to your place, Barb, it sounds like a relaxing haven everytime you describe it!
Re: Note to Lovina
You would be welcome! We are pretty happy around here..at least most of the time!! And yes, it is quiet( I don't like noise or crowds!!).
Re: Note to Lovina
Patt, thank you, thank you, thank you....I can't tell you how much that means to me...I really do mean it when I say that reader sentiments like yours are about the only the that keeps me going!
