Yes, Kevin wrote an answer as a separate post on April 29, the day she asked. It is currently on page 4 (one can click on the page number at the bottom of the column on the home page) and is titled "Well, Because Christy Asked" You can also type the title into the search box and find the posting that way.

I will be making a trip to Ames, Iowa next week and wondered if there were any Amish or OOM communities any place close to Ames. Any tips or suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanx, lls

Near Ames.....not too familiar with a community near Ames per se, but if you are driving to the area from the east, Kalona, Iowa - one of my favorite Amish settlements - is not far off the highway. Just south of Iowa City. That would be my recommendation!

There is no Amish that we know of in southern Alabama, but in the Town of Atmore there are Mennonites.

Amish Communities and penpals
I was wondering if there is any Amish communities close to Jasper Alabama or around alabama. I use to live in Iowa aand I loved buying stuff from them and also I would like my son to learn about their way of life do you know where I can recieve a penpal for him thanks so much

There are Amish in Ethridge,Tennessee . It's not far from the Alabama and Tennessee state line.
