Amelia

Just wondering if anyone else saw the movie, "Amelia"? Hubby and I were the first ones in the theater Sunday morning to see it. He likes Hilary Swank and airplanes, so I knew we'd be seeing this one!  Laughing It was a good movie!

Re: Amelia

I'm hoping to see it this weekend with my boyfriend.. It's going to be raining & blowing, might as well be somewhere dry and enjoying ourselves!

Re: Amelia

SIGH, Diann...persuade me to go....Months ago I saw the previews for this movie and it looked soooooo good in the previews that I was determined to go see it. Rachel thought the previews looked good also...but then the reviews started trickling in this week and they were largely negative, soo....we didn't/haven't gone....SIGH, I hate that I get so swayed by reviews...

Re: Amelia

Kevin, the Dayton newspaper gave Amelia a "B" rating, which is a lot better than some movies we see. A lot of those are rated "C", and we usually like them, so, as swisssweetie said, you and Rachel should go and see for yourselves. I know we liked the movie!

Re: Amelia

Well, as you noted, the DDN critic is often harsh on movies, so that isn't bad...although I just checked rottentomatoes.com and there are 98 reviews of the movie.....16 of them were favorable, 82 unfavorableFrown

Re: Amelia

Go ahead and go, Kevin.  You know reviewers...part of their schtick is to be negative.  They think that critique requires disapproval or they'll be labeled a "soft" reviewer.  They didn't ask your opinion so why bother about theirs?!  I'm encouraging you to take your wife on a date to the movie theatre, share some popcorn with "golden topping" (WHAT is that stuff anyway?) and enjoy yourself.  And be sure to let us know what you think of "Amelia."Smile

Re: Amelia

I think I'd opt for "Where the Wild Things Are" and skip the golden topping.  I think it is fake cheese.
