Happy Halloween!!

For those of you who celebrate it,Happy Halloween!! We don't do much..just enjoy the grandkids costumes and excitement. We live too far out to get trick-or-treaters(other than the grandkids!). I just get cider and I made some fancy little cupcakes, and of course...some candy. Nothing fancy, but we have fun!!!Smile

Re: Happy Halloween!!

My granddaughter went with a neighbor that she babysits for, so she could help with the 5 kids.  I thought sure they would stop in on the way back to the house, and went to the store just to get some candy. We live out in the country and most of the kids around us are teens or their parents take them to the BIg city of Crofton.  Well, they came back to drop off Ashley, and no one came in.  They were either passed out already in their carseats, or in a grumpy mood. So I guess we will be eating candy (that we really don't need).  Oh well, hope all had a safe and happy All Hallows Eve.  Karen

Re: Happy Halloween!!

My 8 yr old is wearing her costume tonight as she gets groceries with grandma. LOL  She loves wearing it and thought she might as well wear it one more time since we already had Beggar's night.

Re: Happy Halloween!!

What do you mean you already had Beggar's night?  Did they do it on a different day? We are getting more kids than we expected and I already made one run to the store to get more candy.  All they had left were Mounds Bars.  Yuck.  Poor kids.  They'll trade those away if possible, I'm sureSmile

Re: Happy Halloween!!

In my part of Ohio they have trick or treat aka Beggar's Night on a different night than Halloween. Don't know why doesn't make sense to me ...but it's usually the Thursday before Halloween. And sometimes a whole week before Halloween.....Maybe the person who came up with it decided they didn't like teachers and wanted them to put up with the kids after a night of eating lots of candy....

Re: Happy Halloween!!

Isn't it interesting, all the variations from one part of the country to another.  My cousin, who lives in central/southern Illinois, and I tease each other about pop, which she calls soda.  My husband's cousins in Florida call any carbonated beverage "Coke."  They ask if you want a Coke and you say yes and then they'll ask if you want Coca Cola, root beer or 7-up!  I took a test one time that asked what you call different things and based on your answers, it could narrow down what part of the country you are from.  It was very accurate.

Re: Happy Halloween!!

HAPPY HALLOWEEN, All! We are getting ready for the little "beggars" -- OK, Trick-or-Treaters, for those of you not from around these parts (SW Ohio)! Looks like good weather for the little goblins tonight!

Re: Happy Halloween!!

Happy Halloween to you, Barb!  What better way to celebrate a holiday than with family, especially the grandkids.  Hope you all have a wonderful time making happy family memories.  Don't forget to take lots of pictures ... those little munchkins grow up way too fast!
