Clotheslines in the News

Apparently the officials in Penn want to be in the news lately! Amish potties now clotheslines!  We've talked before about this topic, and some of you have said that your neighborhood associations or towns have outlawed clotheslines; I knew eventually this would be news, this morning on Fox news I found this article:

Project Laundry List is on a blog that can be found by Googling.  Hopefully these silly laws against hanging will soon be a thing of the past!

Re: Clotheslines in the News

Silly laws is right!!! I have never lived in any other state except PA, but I'm sure that other states have too many ridiculous laws. I can personally vouch for the keystone state tho"!!!! I hope the lady in the article sticks to her guns,I know I would.

Re: Clotheslines in the News

the last time i looked, this was america...i feel that if the clothesline is in YOUR OWN YARD, then someone else should stay out of it

Re: Clotheslines in the News

Amen!

And to Barb- The condo complex we used to own a home in, had the no clothseline rule as part of the rules, that one and a few other ridiculous rules we broke!  They actually nearly took an owner to court because their blinds were creme/tan instead of stark white, and us too, the rails on the wooden porch were so far apart that our little children could go through, it wasn't high off the ground, but they could get stuck, without knowing all the nit-picky rules we went and bought some inexpensive resin lattice panels, zip tying those to the rails, it was white and not "uniform" - the association president at the time, a single "gal", decided to make an example of us... We firmly held our ground, when we didn't remove the lattice, she had the nerve to come onto our porch and remove it for us!  See the association was too poor to actually litigate and of course we knew that and the "rules" were made up by the association board and were not in the legal doc's filed with the county - basically they didn't have a leg to stand on.
