I think I got the original recipe from an old Amish Cook column, but I lost all of my recipes when my house burned, (including my great-grandma's handwritten "recept book") Anyway, I can't remember the proportions, but I think it called for butter or margarine, corn syrup and peanuts, and was cooked in a small iron skillett. It was so easy, and the taste is heavenly. Does anyone have this recipe? I would love to have it again! Thanks.
Re: Peanut Brittle
I am not sure if this will help you,but this is a really old recipe(with 3 ing.) that I have used . It turns out well. 3 cups of sugar,1 tsp. of vinegar, and 1 cup of peanuts. Melt the sugar with the vinegar in a heavy cast iron skillet. Watch carefully so it doesn't burn!! When melted, add peanuts, stirring as little as possible. Pour onto a buttered platter; break into pieces when cool.
