I assume you mean to "put the first 3 ingredients in a large bowl..."?

Re: freezer pickle recipe

2 quarts of pickles. What kind? dill, sour, sweet?

Re: freezer pickle recipe

I believe this means plain cucumber slices.

oh thank you Kevin, I am dying to try these........

Re: freezer pickle recipe

Cheryl, you don't have to go to one of the books, I'll post it for you here!Smile - Kevin

Freezer Pickles

2 quart pickles (sliced)

2 tablespoons salt

1 large onion (sliced)

1 3/4 cup sugar

1/2 cup vinegar

Put ingredients in a large bowl and refrigerate for 24 hours. Drain. Mix sugar and 1/2 cup vinegar and pour over pickles. Cover and refrigerate for 24 hours. Take out of refrigerator or cellar and pack in freezer boxes. Pour syrup over pickles and freeze. These are really good and crisp.

Re: freezer pickle recipe

If you drain the liquid, how much sugar do you add to the 1/2 cup vinegar. Do you not use all the sugar when you put the ingredients in a large bowl and refrigerate?

Re: freezer pickle recipe

Hi,Barb! You do not add any sugar the first day..only salt. That is what helps to make the eventually drained liquid. Add the sugar to the vinegar, this is what makes the brine the pickles are packed in. I make these, they're good and very easy! Good luck to you!~ ~Barb
