Thanks, that was interesting. I was a little surprised to see the treadmill in the basement (besides the fact that it has what appears to be an electrical cord draped over it). I would have thought most Amish folks get more than enough physical exercise in their daily lives, far more than we English do. But "never say never" where the Amish are concerned, I guess ... there always seems to be a surprise somewhere. I guess that's one of the things that makes learning about the Amish and their culture so fascinating! ~ Janice

There's really too little info to go on but having been in many Amish homes over the years I can say that he lay-out (floor plan) of the home is very typical of newer Amish homes. Heck, that kitchen could have been Lovina's. This would seem to be the home of a bit more prosperous, less conversative Amish with the nice fireplace tools, the tiling, the very new-looking wood furniture....If this is an Old Order Amish home, that would just show the range found among the Amish....some very conservatives one who would find the home in the video way too flashy....yet other Old Orders would be fine with it...

You make a good point, Kevin. The living room furniture was way more plush (i.e., padded and upholstered and a matching set) than some of the Old Order Amish homes I've been in or seen -- except for one. So there's that "never say never" again. Also, far more wall decorations in this home than what I've seen before (which is certainly not a measuring stick, by any means, just my own personal experience). ~ Janice
