Re: Assembly Required
I was going to make a red velvet cake today to take to friends tonight for dinner but I just couldn't bring myself to do it so off to Sams I went. Bought a beautiful square cake that looks like a wrapped gift. Hope its as good as it is pretty.
Re: Assembly Required
Thanks. I agree with you on the short cuts. I get in my cooking from scratch modes as I like to call them. On some days I tell them it is a fend for yourself day, so it's a lot of sandwiches and macaroni and cheese. lol
Re: Assembly Required
I agree with you Jodi. I love to cook from scratch, but I'm not opposed to taking a short cut once in a while. My boyfriend in a good cook too and he cooks from scratch.
Your dinner looks yummy!
Re: Assembly Required
My late husband used to say why make it when you can buy it but I always told him why buy it when you can make it. This is a favorite now with my new husband, so this is what we had for supper tonight. I made my own flour tortillas, the sauce I canned this summer, and I mixed my own spices. The Bible says in Thesselonians. "To work with your own hands, so you wont be in any need" (paraphrased). I like to make everything homemade if it's possible. Hopefully I'll get to baking again. I wanted to make my cinnamon rolls to take to work with me this weekend but I don't know if they'll last until the next day. I made them one time for Sunday school class and this one lady said that she could go hide in the corner and eat them all. I thought that was sweet and so is she. Want the recipe? Just let me know.
