Sour cream walnut cookies

Looking for a recipe I used to have from an old order cookbook that is lost. If anyone has a recipe I would appreciate it.  These are light- tasting cookies with a melt in your mouth sensation , used to be a family favorite. Thankyou

Re: Sour cream walnut cookies

I hope this will help, the original recipe called for buttermilk but I have used sour cream with good results. 1 cup sugar,1cup brown sugar,1 cup butter or margarine,3 eggs,3 1/2 cups flour,1 tsp. soda,2 tsp.baking powder, 1 cup sour cream,1 cup chopped walnuts.  Cream sugars, shortening & eggs. Sift dry ingr. and add alternately with sour cream. Add nuts. Drop by tsp. onto lightly greased sheets and bake at 375 for 8-10 min. Good luck!Smile

Re: Sour cream walnut cookies

Thankyou so much Barb for the reply and recipe. I already made a batch  then realized I used all my walnuts up in a prior batch of brownies . Embarassed  I substituted silvered almonds on top of the cookies , which turned out wonderful.
