Pushin' American..... Cheese That is....

This is how my dinner meal came about tonight:  I accidentally took out an extra ziplock of American cheese slices last week.... Since then I've made, the obvious.. grilled cheese sandwiches, cheesy hashbrowns w/bacon; cheesy french fries and tonight this recipe:

Mexican Skillet Casserole

brown 1 pound ground beef in a deep skillet for which you have a lid, then following the directions on the box of Mexican Rice (I used Farmhouse tonight) add 2 C water, rice and seasoning from box; follow cooking instructions of rice. (bring to boil, cover without removing lid, simmer on low for 25 minutes)  add 3/4 C frozen corn and a small can of mild green chiles plus two chili sized cans of water.  Simmer until corn is warmed through.  Stir. Cover with slices of American Cheese, place lid back on skillet, pray with your family then it's ready to serve!  Side dishes were a can a refried beans, canned peaches & applesauce and black olives (that's because those things I had in the pantry!)

I just stirred in the cheese to the left overs and it is going to make a fine lunch for my husband tomorrow.

Happy Cooking!!

I just don't get it! I've gone in a deleted the old photo and added the new photo probably a dozen times in the last couple days.  I either see no photo or the snow photo comes back even after being gone for a long while, ugh!!!

Thanks BK! She did a great job on those photos, because of the nature of digital cameras, (the screen on the back) it helps the children to line up shots and then theysee the results right away!

Awww, I wanna see the basket, lol I still see the snow pic on my end. Hey, KJuneBug, sounds like your daughter is going to follow in your footsteps, maybe? ~Diann

Re: Pushin' American..... Cheese That is....

The basket has been there the past couple of days on my end, but it was only a small section with the butterfly nail and small part of the plate and handle.  Of course I knew what it wasWink

That was one image, In the meantime I found and edited one I liked better, it's a little further back, but it shows the whole basket. A PS to this, she also wove that basket, at make-a-basket!!

How/when did you see my basket?  I have been looking for it all day?  Everytime I go out I have found nothing or the old snow picture?  I have to take no credit for the basket or the photo our then 9 yr old daugh. took that image last spring on our trip, with our little coolpix.  I was impressed!!

Same thing happened to me last time I changed my avatar (which I REALLY need to do!  LOL).  Everyone else could see it for a few days before I could.

Anything with Mexican rice in it is okay in my book!  It is too bad more recipes don't have "pray with your family" as part of the instructions :-)

 ps...Nice basket!
