CNEFF N SHAR.....

I have experimented with an "Amish Cook" website in various incarnations since 2000.  I remember specifically when because the first site was launched in April 2000 and Elizabeth's husband, Ben, (Lovina's father), passed away the following month.  Our website was inundated with sympathy emails for Elizabeth in May 2000. I was amazed at how many Amish Cook readers in 2000 had easy internet access.  But the site stagnated and I just didn't keep it updated and it eventually ceased a year or so later.  Several other attempts were made until a couple of years ago I started this site, amishhcookonline.com  Data has been transferred from the previous incarnations of the websites, including some "registered user" information.  SHAR, a site regular, I thought had been with us the longest, over 3 years.  But a registered user, CNEFF, I saw today has been with us four years and sixteen weeks.  Wow! I didn't even know we were registering users that far back, thanks for sticking with us!!!

Re: CNEFF N SHAR.....

I was on the site a long time, as what Kevin jokingly refers to as a "lurker" and didn't register until he started publishing the Amish Cook column online, and you had to register to read it. We camp a lot in the summer months, consequently I stop the newspaper when we're gone, and I wasn't able to read the column. This way, I won't ever have to miss reading it! ~Diann

Re: CNEFF N SHAR.....

WOW! I cannot lay claim to that, but I am very impressed. It really amazes me , the interest in the Amish. I can't help but think that people are "reaching back" somehow to a better way of life.I have always had interest because of my upbringing. Although my family isn't Amish, I was raised similar to the way they are raised. Only when I was a very young teen, did my parents do different. I never knew why, and often wished they hadn't. That is why we have raised our 3 the way we have. Morals and values are so out of style. My own kids are now 30, 29, and 26. They ,thankfully , are following what they were tought.

I was registered over at the other site, too.  I can't remember my username, but I assume it is probably the one I have now :-)
