I Can Make You Thin

Kay's posts under the headache remedies entry reminded me of this show I have been watching on TLC called "I Can Make You Thin."  New episodes are on Sunday nights (but I believe the re-run is on sporadically through the week), but there have only been two episodes so far.  Let me tell you, anyone would be skeptical, but it is amazing!  I am addicted.

Basically, this guy who is an English self-help author teaches you different techniques each week to help you to change your eating habits to mimic those of a "naturally thin person."  Sounds too good to be true, but I have been trying it and it works!

On the first show, the rules were basically eat when you feel hungry, and eat what you WANT (chips, cookie, mac n cheese etc), not what you feel like you should have (celery, raisins, etc.).  Apparently, depriving yourself of food when you are physically hungry slows your metabolism.  Plus, if you don't eat the things you really crave, they will become all you think about.  Eat consciously, chew food thoroughly, and stop when you are full.  Also, he taught to turn off tv, all distractions, concentrate on the food, and put your fork down after every bite.  I have tried this, and it does work!  You get full so much faster.  And if you get hungry again in a little bit, eat.... but continue to do it consciously.

On the second show, he taught a technique when you feel like "emotionally eating" of using a type of relexology, by tapping different parts of your body, moving your eyes, humming, etc. to "reprogram" your brain and take away the urge to eat when you are sad, mad, bored, etc.  I have been trying this too, and it works, but I still need more practice. GOD BLESS YOU

This sounds interesting and so far the only thing i have managed to tune in to is the first show and it has been re run so many times.

I do not take the TV Guide.
Eventually, there have to be reruns of the 2nd, 3rd etc that we will get tuned in to.

Hope you will let us know how you are doing with this method.  sounds more like it is a life style change than a diet.

The new shows are on Sunday night, right after a re-run of the previous weeks show.  I think it is around 10 or so that the new one comes on.

I will say that last night, I only ate half of my footlong sub.  Usually, I can inhale the whole footlong before my husband finishes half of his!  I love them!  Well, last night I put my sandwich down between bites, chewed 20 times, and I was STUFFED after half!  I ate the othe half for lunch today Foot in mouth
