Of course, I suppose being Amish is the greenest way to go: no electricity, just a bit of kerosene for those lanterns at night.

UM....the kerosene lanterns come in green.  Though mine are blue and turned a wee bit green upon use.  Is that what you mean by greenest?  LOL. 

The children are definitely passionate about our friendship with the plain people. They decided we should try kerosene lanterns.  We have just started using them some.  I wrote about paradoxical situations I encountered on my blog.  A reader posted a comment that someone out there in the blog world posted a picture of a laptop by the glow of a lantern.  It is a new trend as far as I can tell.  Come on Kevin, you can do it!!!

On a more serious note, we have considered running our new home off of solar panels and the eco lights are the best way to conserve.
