RECIPE of the WEEK

December 25, 2000

These are a favorite Christmas cookie around here. Make them and the longer they sit, the better they taste.

COBLENTZ CHRISTMAS COOKIES

3 cups of flour
3 tablespoon of milk
1 cup of sugar
2 eggs
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon of cream or tartar
1/2 teaspoon of salt
1 teaspoon of vanilla
1 1/4 cup of butter

Mix dry ingredients. Add remaining ingredients and stir until you get a soft dough. Roll out thinly. Cut in any shape desired. Bake for 375 for about 10 minutes until the cookies are golden brown around the edges. Let cool and decorate as you wish. These cookies taste great for weeks.
