New Cookbook

Hey Kevin, have you thought about having the cookbooks signed by you and Lovina? I'd love to have one, I may even be willing to pay extra for a signed copy. Would it be taboo with Lovina's church district if she signed them?

Re: New Cookbook

KEVIN IS IT TO LATE TO GET THE NEW COOK BOOK? I HAVE ALL OF THE OTHERS.

Re: New Cookbook

Not too late, you're early.  You can pre-order your copy at a very good price through Amazon.com.  Just go to Amazon.com and type in "Lovina Eicher".....it'll bring up "The Amish Cook at Home"....you can order that way.  Thanks!

Re: New Cookbook

How do I buy a copy of this cookbook?

Re: New Cookbook

Hi

I am suprised that Lovina's Church district is fine with her signing copies of a book. For a people who consider informal photographs a sign of pride, wouldn't signing copies of a book be in many ways a form of self adulation? I enjoy reading the cook book, but honestly, I think having an Amish woman's autograph seems very much like an oxymoron. Susan

Re: New Cookbook

Susan -  It's a fair point.  The issue has never come up.  As Lovina's editor, I'm always doing everything I can to protect her ideology from intrusions related to the column and her writing.....if one were to "drop in" and visit her home you'd never know you're at T"he Amish Cook's house."  There's nothing "celebrity-like" about her...the church has a long history of banning prideful poses and prohibiting photographs based on the Biblical admonition of "graven images", but nothing has ever come up about a signature, so I just assumed it was OK.  Anyone have any other thoughts? - Kevin

Re: New Cookbook

Kelli,

I'm sure we'l make signed copies available, Lovina or her church would be fine with that, I know...so stay tuned...I'll have more information later this summer closer to when the book comes out - Kevin

Re: New Cookbook

I would like one of the cookbooks also and signed. I have the first one.
thanks.
Our prayers to both families on the little ones.
