yodeling
Many thanks for sharing a fun side of your heritage. I so admire you for sharing with the world but in a way that shows your integrity for your values and religion. You were able to enlighten all of the rest of us and entertain us. You gave us a sound of your voice to put to your words that we read in the paper each week. But most importantly, we couldn't keep it! In the technology of our age, you were able to share with us in your own way. Again, thank you for sharing with us, but for showing the rest of the world that your values and integrity are most important of all.

Re: yodeling
I cannot thank you enough for offering this to the public. My father's family came from the Swiss/German Amish heritage but due to many cultural issues tried very hard to lose many aspects of it in order to become an 'American.' The unfortunate side effect was the loss of these wonderful traditions that are so important to hold on to and remember generation to generation. On two very rare occasions I heard my father yodel for a very briefly after being coerced for quite a long time by a good friend. Hearing the Eichers brought back those wonderful, treasured memories. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. And thank you for the column. It reminds me each week of so many virtues.
