I was reading on the Burlington Hawkeye website earlier, the paper said that Fort Madison was one of the worst flooded areas...DUH!!  Our county's emergency management said that FEMA will be sitting up an office in Town...I truly hope that FEMA won't screw up this time around like during Hurricane Katrina...we'll just have to wait and see what FEMA does or won't do!  I had to drive to the grocery store this morning and was so glad to see that the water is receding on the streets..

I haven't dared crossed over to Illinois since the flooding began.....I don't want to be one of those sight see'ers that officials don't want around the sandbaggers and levies...besides I see enough of the flooding in Town :)

I heard about the thunderstorms we had last night...as usual I slept through it! :)

I do know for a fact that although the Des Moines River is receding as the Officials are saying...it's really high!!!  I had to drive to Wayland Mo this morning and saw how how that River really is!!  It's going to be a long time before Highway 61 to Alexandria Mo is open again...the Des Moines River meets the Mississippi River...I wonder if Rairden's Junkyard was flooded :(
