Re: Iowa floods - How are your doing Luv?
"Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift... that's why they call it the present."
Gatewalker, my husband drives through your neck of the wood everyday on his way to work in Burlington. We went through there Monday to go to Burlington for our anniversary. It is just crazy to see how far up the water was (and still is), but luckily it is receding. Last night, we had 2 1/4 inches of rain, which is good for the gardens but not so good for the receding waters.
Sunday night we went across the bridge into Hamilton to see my husband's gma and go get some Dairy Queen. It was the first time I had been across since the flood, and it is odd to see the water lapping at the side of the raised roadway like that. A lot of driftwood and trash lay around in areas that were covered by water but are now dry. And all over the area, people are sitting on sides of the road, etc. in chairs, fishing in the floodwaters!
