I can finally post something about the flood in Fort Madison.  We live about 3 blocks from the River luckily we're on higher ground so my Mom and I were safe from the flood waters this time around (we were worried, stressed out and anxious)...compared to the flood of '93 and '08 the difference for us is that we did not have any ground water so luckily this time around our basement did not flood like last time!!  Some neighborhoods were flooded out, people either evacuated or stayed home to fight the flooding!  The Bridge did had to close a couple of times that connected to Illinois due to the high water on the Iowa Side...I know of employees having to use a boat to get to work at the water treatment plant that was fortified by sandbags.  Our main park next to the River was completely flooded over...it's going to be a mess cleaning up! 

Oh yeah...deer, rabbits, skunk and turtles have been seen around town...water moccasins have been viewed around the flooded neighborhoods...ugh!!
