I also do a garage sale once a year to get rid of 'stuff' no longer needed, used, or want.  Few weeks ago I was in the local post office and a man there had several boxes he was mailing out.  He also sold things on e-bay that he finds at yard sales and clearance racks.  He told me that he makes around a thousand a month doing this. He said that he makes a lot of his profit through the postage and handling he charges.  So this year one of my son's is going to try this instead of the yard sale, not sure if it will be worth it but will let you know.
