New Hutterite Colony Planned For North Dakota

Hutterite colonies are part business, part insular culture.  The business part really helps preserve the insular part. If a Hutterite colony can achieve a measure of self-sufficiency, they can remain a closed, conservative sect.  Still, sometimes outsiders are alarmed when they learn a Hutterite colony is coming to their area.  The objections are often based on environmental impact, but Hutterite colonies have gotten more “green” in recent years.  Anyway, residents in rural North Dakota between Fargo and Grand Forks will soon have new neighbors as a Hutterite colony takes shape near Hillsboro.  Click here to read more.
