Here are a few scenes from the Marion Public Library in Indiana on Monday evening. I had a great time visiting with the Friends of the Library in Marion, Indiana last night and I want to thank them for inviting me. They put out a spread of delicious baked goods for their meeting (baked goods from the Amish Cook’s books) and I had an enjoyable time fielding all sorts of Amish questions from the audience.
I always tell people that I’m an expert in my own experiences and that’s really all I can say. But I’ve had 20 years of varied and myriad experiences among the Amish, Mennonites, and other plain people. It’s been a fun ride. If your group is looking for a speaker and you think you’d enjoy learning more about the Amish, I’m happy to come (um…I do charge a fee, but some groups do have budgets for that sort of thing, sooo…). Meanwhile, thanks again to the Marion Public Library for a fun evening!
