I have never even been on my space!! I think it tends to make trouble - from what I have heard. Funny you should say Xanga!! I go there to visit the Old German Baptists Brethren who remain anonymous. Everything is about christian faith. My space is definitely not. Yahoo has some very conservative Mennonite email groups( plain, but drive) and GB's and River bretheren and other plain ones ( who drive and can have electricity and sometimes computers)try to gather there together. I am sure there are other places I don't know about, too, for plain or very conservative Anabaptists to talk. But, frankly, they do not satisfy the need for real people to look at and talk to.

Dutch boy,
To be honest, if I could go back I would never have gotten the internet. Having a community with lots of real relationships ( I know they will not be perfect by any means) would be a wonderful thing. I love it when I am too busy to get on here and I don't like the way it seems to draw me when I am the least little bit bored. What do you think of the internet personally?

Its OK as we have it here, all kinds of oversight, we can't even get on Myspace or Xanga. But I can see it having a way of getting people in trouble if you could do whatever you want, whenever you want.

Hi Dutch Boy, LOL means "laugh out loud". It is just kind of funny to be talking about Amish who are not supposed to be online suddenly come online.
I don't want to encourage you to do something you have promised not to do. It must be hard to work somewhere that has a computer and not want to see what is going on.
hey joanie...........i am amish and i do really enjoy this computer that i am using to talk to you.......are you a disenchanted soul or what.............due to the lack of workforce jobs out there, we are forced to take anything that we can in order to feed our families.........do not be so SMUG

Nancie-
What is the protocol for Amish and computers, internet, etc... Are you allowed at all, or only for work? I'm just curious how this works?
I think they are a useful tool in many respects, but my daughter was contacted by a creepy guy this summer and we took her off of myspace.
Thanks for your response,
Linda
