I just finished reading BOTH books cover to cover! To say I loved them is an understatement. But I noticed something that maybe other bakers out there could comment on. I looked at Elizabeth's homemade bread recipe because the photos looked SO good -- but having baked bread for many years it is the first time that I saw a recipe for white yeast bread that did not call for kneading the dough. I'd love to try her recipe, but I'd like to be sure about that first. Any comments/suggestions?

Re: Bread!
Actually the recipe was not for batter bread. I can't remember which book it was in (I've bought a few recently) but kneading wasn't mentioned in the recipe. So, anyway, I made (it AND kneaded it) and it was glorious! It just struck me odd that the recipe didn't mention it.
Re: Bread!
I bake bread alot..I knead mine(I find it sort of a relaxing time..cheap therapy!!). There are many recipes for no-knead bread. They are generally called batter bread.
Re: Lovina's No knead Bread!
Hi, I have made a few loaves of this and it turned out very well, indeed. I did find that the reciept (old word for recipe) makes 2 loaves.
One problem, it didn't last very long when I made it.
I have tried some other reciepts for bread since making Lovina's, but like she said she did, I am coming back to this reciept.
Blessings,

Re: Bread!
I have made lots of no knead rolls and breads, there is a cookbook called kneadlessly simple, by nancy bagget, it has a lot of no knead yeast bread recipes in it, so, maybe Elizabeth's recipe is a no knead one, I haven't recieved my book yet so I have not read the recipe, give it a try and let us all know how it turned out, good luck and have a great day....
Re: Bread!
I haven't yet seen her recipe, but there is a thing called "No-Knead" bread.
Here's some discussion on it by some who have tried it:
