What an icon. They don't make `em like him anymore. Trusted, sincere, above rapproach. In an age where entertainment masquerades as news (Jon & Kate, anyone?) and vice-verse, Walter Cronkite kept the lines distinct. News was never the same after Walter Cronkite retired and with him goes an era of trust and credibility.

Curious: any of our Canadian visitors, do you have a "Canadian equivalent" to a Walter Cronkite, past or present? A news anchor that is just considered very authoratitive, above reproach, etc?
